FERAL

Senior Art Director

As Animal Jam players aged out of the IP, Fer.al was a way to recapture our audience with a more aged up style. I supported the early concept phase with the concept team by meeting weekly to create mood and style boards, looking at current games our demo was playing, and ways we could differentiate ourselves.

I set up early visual pillars that helped as guardrails. I also held a visual development open house within the studio for everyone to take a first look at our initial thinking and gather feedback.

As the Art Director, I’m always on the look out for a grounding piece of art work that can really set the tone and speak to the entire look and feel of a project. That is why it’s important to iterate early and often. One of my personal tenants, and also an oldie but a goodie is: Fail Faster. Iterate and prototype as much as time will allow and gather feedback from your customer.
